DONG HUA, AP, DOM (MD CHINA)

Dr. Dong Hua, A.P., Dipl Ap, MD (China) has more than twenty years of experience in chinese Medicine. He graduated and then became a professor of Chinese Medicine in Shanghai TCM University in China. After leaving China he spent eight years in Israel teaching in Ben Gurion University and helping people in pain as the director of chinese medicine at the famed Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. Dr. Dong Hua is currently a professor of Chinese Medicine at Atlantic Oriental Medicine College in Fort Lauderdale, FL and now sees patients on Friday afternoons (1:30 - 4:30 PM) at East West Physicians.

In Israel Dr. Dong Hua created the first program for Chinese Manual Therapy (Tui Na) and trained 100s of doctors in this ancient method of therapy. In Shaare Zedek hospital Dr. Dong created the first programs for using Acupuncture Anesthesia to reduce or eliminate the need for traditional anesthetic drugs and lead a comprehensive study for the use of Chinese Medicine to treat cancer.

Dr. Dong also graduated with a master of business administration from Northeastern University. Dr. Dong Hua specializes in pain management and cancer treatment side affects.


ROBERT J. HERBST, AP, DOM (MS PSYCHOLOGY)

Dr Robert J. Herbst graduated from ATOM, The Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, with his degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine after earning a Master's Degree in Psychology from the Miami Institute of Psychology. He excelled in his studies at ATOM winning a multitude of academic awards including Student of the Year Award, the Frank C. Lu Scholarship Award, and the President's Award. Robert also interned with his mentor, the highly respected Dr. Fu Di (MD China), for one year focusing on Chinese herbal formula preparation.

Since graduating, Robert has continued his education with a variety of CEU training focusing on addictions (NADA Certified), psychological healing, infertility treatment, natural weight loss and smoking cessation. He is nationally board certified in Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Florida. Not many acupuncturists are Board Certified in Herbal Medicine due to the vast amount of knowledge and expertise needed to cover the curriculm and pass the examination.

Robert is experienced with a wide range of conditions. He has lectured on TCM related topics at the University of Miami, holds monthly free seminars at East West Physicians in Coconut Creek, and has worked extensively in community court in West Palm Beach treating addictions. His scope of practice includes Chinese style acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, homeopathy, moxabustion, nutrition and lifestyle counseling, and tui na massage. Robert endeavors to provide quality individualized care in a nurturing and respectful environment.


EMILY ROWE M.D., A.P.

Dr. Emily Rowe is a graduate of the University Of Miami, School of Medicine. From there, she went on to complete a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist and a board-certified herbalist.

Her professional interest lies in the application of TCM to treat Western medical diagnoses of all types. Dr. Rowe’s intimate knowledge of pathology and pharmacology from a Western standpoint makes her unique among TCM practitioners.

Dr. Rowe’s philosophy of treatment is based on complementary medicine. Dr. Rowe does not see TCM and Western medicine as being in conflict.

The primary goal of Dr. Rowe’s therapies is to maximize patient’s quality of life in all its aspects. This is accomplished through the application of a broad and varied knowledge of the working human body and mind. Moveover, she encourages the active participation of each patient in the design of his or her plan of care. Recognition of the autonomy that each patient holds over their own body is tantamount to the success of all treatments. Dr. Rowe firmly believes in the education and empowerment of all patients to facilitate their ability to realize optimum health.
